As the largest country on earth, it’s no real surprise that Russia offers a huge variety of sights and activities for tourists. It’s a country you don’t so much visit, as experience.

It’s people, culture, and way of life are unique. From the magnificent splendour of former capital St Petersburg, in the north, to the resorts of the Black Sea coast in the south. From the truly unforgettable sights of Red Square, to the vast impenetrable wilderness of the East, it’s a country that no longer has to remain the mystery it once was.

Tourism in Russia is growing rapidly, and although the initial paperwork and entry may seem a little heavy going, it’s well worth the perseverance. Once you’re there, you’ll find excellent hotels, grand tours, and a surprisingly warm welcome.

From a city break to take in the awesome palaces of St Petersburg, to a trip across the continent on the legendary Trans-Siberian Railway, you’ll head home with some wonderful memories.

If you don’t speak the language, however, it’s a good idea to use of the one of many tours and excursions, as deciphering the cyrillic alphabet can be a problem for the untrained eye.
